Pasadena Chalk Art Festival and and World Music Festival

Another fantastic find to squeeze into a packed weekend!
Being an avid fan of the Downtown Los Angeles art walk, I’m always looking for artwork that will inspire me. The Pasadena Chalk Festival event, mixed in with the awesome musical artists of the Pasadena World Music Festival, was no exception.
When I first discovered the two events, I wouldn’t keep quite about it. I told the group that came out for the Eaton Canyon hike. I blabbed about it at the Local Coffee and Tea Scene group tea at the Peninsula Hotel. Basically anyone that would listen.
Those that listened thanked me profusely later.
Not only was this event easy to get to from the Metro Gold Line, but it was free. Not only was it free. I arrived later in the afternoon, around 6pm. Happily, I saved the $9 parking fee at Paseo Colorado by just taking the Metro Red and Gold Lines. The main art walk area was still packed, as well as the other side locations.
I was awe stuck and inspired. There are still certain pieces I’m amazed by when I review my photos. The shading, detail and depth of the pieces are just beautiful.
Another highlight of the night was experiencing the music of Argentinean musician Juana Molina at One Colorado. Check out her website to see what I mean when I say it was a priceless auditory experience. I concluded the night with an excellent dinner at Malagueta Pasadena on Colorado Blvd.
Overall, this was a great way to end a fabulous weekend. I’ve already marked my calendar for next year.
